Super Bowl Thoughts

Well the Super Bowl is over. Yes I mean the football game, not the event that women watch for the ads. If you watch it just for the ads, I question your manliness.

A couple of questions here:

1. What was the best food you ate during your Super Bowl watching affair?
We had some extra hot wings, pizza rolls, shrimp cocktail, 7-layer dip, pb oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and M&Ms (pb & almond). The dip was my favorite. love that stuff.

2. The game was pretty quality, maybe one of the best we’ve seen in awhile. What did you think–was it the best Super Bowl game since
A) Steelers beat the Cardinals on last minute td catch in corner of the end zone
B) Giants beat Patriots (first time, helmet catch)
C) Bucs killed the Raiders (always good to see the Raiders lose)
D) Rams beat the Titans with a tackle one yard short of the end zone

Gotta go with B myself–that was a great game. I was rooting for the Cardinals and hated to see the Steelers win that one

3. What did you think of the halftime show?

I thought it was pretty entertaining. I missed M.I.A. flipping off the crowd. Madonna was a little old but the production was pretty good (though a little weird). At least it wasn’t super old dudes crotch sliding into the camera.

About Luke

Luke learned to read at the age of two, whereupon he decided, like much of the male population, that it was a chore to be done only when absolutely necessary. Then suddenly at age nineteen, he discovered good books—he has been reading voraciously ever since, earning multiple literature and writing degrees. At any given moment you'll find him reading at least one book, smoking a cigar, up fifty feet in a tree he free-climbed.

  1. I gotta go with A. I was at that super bowl rooting for the Cardinals, but that game was a roller coaster of craziness. Harrison’s 99-yard INT return before halftime? Fitzgerald breaks off a 50+ yard TD to take the lead? Big Ben to Holmes in the corner of the endzone to win it?! That game was just nutty.

I missed MIA too apparently. I didn’t miss CeeLo though, which was the halftime highlight for me. Either that or when that guy WHIPPED HIS LEG AROUND?!?!

  2. Of all 5 Brady era Patriots Super Bowls, I rank as follows:

    1. vs. Giants (helmet Catch)
    2. vs. Rams (U2 halftime, beautiful day)
    3. vs. Panthers (85 yard TD, wardrobe malfunction aka boob)
    4. vs. Giants (THE VOICE is next on NBC)
    5. vs. Eagles (lol at TO)

Steelers/Cards was great, as was Steelers/Packers (Jordy. Eat it haters). I give last night a B. Best Super Bowl I remember watching was Rams/Titans.

Halftime was ‘meh’. I realized that C-Low Greene is the Gnarls Barkley guy, never knew that. Never heard of MIA. I didn’t see the middle finger, and frankly, is anyone still offended by this? It’s not a boob America.

Already forgot all commercials, except godaddy.com because my wife vocalizes extreme displeasure every time one is broadcast (and is a middle finger worse than a godaddy.com commercial for the kids? I say no.)

Anyway, remember to vote for Ron Paul tomorrow if you live in Missouri.

    Thanks,
    OMW

  3. -First off, leg windmill was easily the highlight of the night
-Rams vs. Titans was the best. Can you imagine if you were one of those fan bases? Last play, stopped at the freaking 1???
-How is no one talking about the Puppy Bowl? It had a freaking kitten halftime show!!! My major regret last night was not recording this. I don’t care who you are, ain’t nothing wrong with puppies and kittens.
